This playset bothers me.

Why do I feel like someone’s in denial about the color and length of Rapunzel’s hair? Rapunzel with short, brown hair is free, Princess Rapunzel. Rapunzel with long, magical hair is kidnapped, downtrodden Rapunzel. Her hair was cut, and this was a good thing, yes? Yes.

Yes, it’s just a toy set. But it’s one I’d be more inclined to persuade myself that I need if it weren’t so contradictory.

• I mean, look at Pascal, that handsome little mister in bow tie. (Want.)
• Then there’s Maximus, looking pretty bad ass, if a little stiff and plastic-y. (Want.)
• And wedding cake on a table? (Okay…)
